Individual projects range from a short workshop session, using one artist, to complex programmes of workshop and performance, involving several professional artists and numbers of community volunteers and/or students.
Projects are funded from a number of sources and we work with clients, where necessary, to help identify possible funding sources. The organisation does not hold a reserve of project funding: core funding is less than core expenditure and an administrative charge is added to the costs of artists, venues, materials and other project expenditure. Project funding has been received in the past from the Arts Council of England, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the National Foundation for Youth & Music, Royal Mail and other trusts and sponsors, as well as local authorities.
Some equipment has been provided by National Lottery Capital Grant and the Millennium Festival Fund provided funding for a major project in 2000. The National Lottery has also funded clients to commission our projects.
